The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education (UNMC CON CNE) targets registered nurses, especially those engaged in specialty practices and those with advanced degrees, including advanced practice nurses (APNs) and faculty.

The UNMC CON CNE provides a vast portfolio of high quality accredited activities annually in a variety of formats, including live synchronous programs and asynchronous online activities. In 2006, consistent with the University’s mission to reach out nationally, UNMC CON CNE launched our online learning and evaluation system. Since its launch, more than 300 online learning programs have been presented, issued over 83,000 CE certificates to RN learners from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East. Our highly developed technical capabilities include interactive instructional design, video streaming, custom Web development, visual design, dynamic Web pages, and data collection, storage, and analysis. We are also experts in activity evaluation creation and reporting. Our activity evaluation emphasizes levels 3 and 4 outcomes, linking learning outcomes to practice changes. All programs include an evaluation immediately post-activity. Our programs aim to enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes, competence, and performance of nurses, ultimately improving patient outcomes and community health.
